Where medical science meets the iron.
KeepYou Fitness is a program that has been in the making for years, born in the library of a medical school. While training to become a doctor, I found myself balancing the immense pressure of studying medicine with the desire to stay physically fit. I was surrounded by friends who were "gym rats," but I was also studying the rising obesity epidemic in America and the science of nutrition.
I realized there was a gap between what science said worked and what people actually had time to do. I wanted to keep up with the "Joneses" in the gym, but manual meal planning was tedious. I didn't have hours to scan nutrition labels or look up every ingredient on Google.
KeepYou works on this fundamental rule. While most apps focus heavily on the workout, we focus on the fuel. The KeepYou program places the vast emphasis on what you do in the kitchen—essentially, meal planning.
I initially developed a complex system on an Excel spreadsheet to automate this process for myself. It allowed me to lose fat when I wanted to cut, and gain lean mass when I wanted to bulk, all without the mental fatigue of daily planning. I essentially ate the same 1 or 2 pre-made plans all week because it was efficient. It wasn't fancy, but it worked.
I knew there had to be a better way to organize this. When I traveled, I lost access to my spreadsheets and fell off track. I wished for an app that could handle the heavy lifting of calculation, leaving me to just focus on the execution.
That app didn't exist, so I built it. KeepYou Fitness is designed for everyone—from beginners to experts, from those looking to lean down to those looking to bulk up. It customizes your meal plans and exercise regimens concurrently to match your lifestyle, solving the "tedium" problem once and for all.
